Miraculous Luck Reunites Two Sisters Separated at Birth

Through a random twist of fate, Lizzie Valverde, 35, and Katy Olson, 34, who were both adopted women found out that they were actually sisters while at University of Columbia.

Lizzie and Katy were both enrolled in a writing class in University of Columbia, a New York based university. Lizzie lived in New Jersey, while Katy had grown up mostly in Florida and Iowa.

During their first literary reporting class, the professor asked each student to introduce themselves. Lizzie started to introduce herself and share personal details about her life, childhood and her adoption. Katy was in the room, listening onto every word that Lizzie said.

Lizzie’s details made Katy realize that she might be her long lost sister. Katy became more and more intrigued as Lizzie speaks, and so the two decided to go for a drink at a local bar to share details about their lives. They eventually discovered that they were sisters, born to the same troubled mother in Florida and then raised by adoptive families in different parts of the country. The two immediately bonded over their similarities and have remained close throughout the ensuing years.

On Monday, Lizzie will graduate with a bachelor’s degree in creative writing. Katy, who graduated last year and is now working on a master’s degree in the same subject, will be there to congratulate her sister.

Leslie Parker, their biological mother will also attend the graduation and it will be her first time to meet Katy.

These sisters were separated since birth, but the amazing work of fate reunited them after three decades. This is truly a remarkable story that surely can’t be coincidence.
